Holy Week: (Easter Sunday) The Empty Tomb, the Ressurection, the Revelation

And in the still of those early twilight hours, Mary mourning the death of Jesus, had made her way to His tomb finding it open and empty. She stood crying outside the tomb when an angel asked her “Woman why are you crying?” “They have taken my Lord away and I don’t know where they have put Him”. “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He who you seek is not here, for He is alive and has risen as He said He would. Now go and tell the others”.

Mary went to tell the disciples. Upon arriving Peter ran in first and saw the burial cloths lying where Jesus had been with the cloth around His head folded separately from the rest. It was later that Sunday evening when Jesus appeared to His disciples saying “Peace be with You”, and breathing on them he said “Receive the Holy Spirit”. And it was that Day that they had understood the full weight of the resurrection.

Jesus telling his friends that He must ascend to the Father, assured them that the Holy Spirit, the Comforter would be with them until the end of the age.

Many witnesses had come forward saying they had seen the risen Lord. His victory over death and evil has now been imparted to all those who believe, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against them. Give your heart to the risen Lord this day and live forever and ever in the loving glory of God our Father who awaits you with open arms.
